I have a hybrid film/digital workflow: I shoot film, develop it, and scan it. I do use a digital camera (Panasonic LX3), but mostly shoot film.
- Take photos
- Develop film. I develop my own black and white film in my kitchen, though I have also dropped rolls off a lab. I drop all color film off at a lab.
- Scan film. 35mm film is scanned with the Nikon CS500ED, while medium format film is scanned on the Epson V700.
- Import photos to Lightroom. If the photos were taken with a digital camera, of course the develop/scan steps are skipped.
- Manage photos. I do as little corrections as possible in Lightroom and flag photos for inclusion on the site.
- Post photos.
I used to have a darkroom for printing, but now if I need to print, I rent space at a lab.
